PsychTALK Live! is a unique interview skills training course for psychiatrists.In this intensive one day workshop a small group of delegates are coached by a Consultant Psychiatrist to significantly improve their performances in the MRCPsych CASC examination.

PsychTALK Live! is most useful to psychiatrists who meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • do not speak English as their first language
  • need help to structure their interviews and deal with the unexpected
  • lack confidence when interviewing patients in front of others
  • are unsure about what is required to succeed in the MRCPsych CASC examination
  • have already failed the MRCPsych CASC examination

Practical exercises are used to expose candidates to a wide range of interview situations that reflect the stations of the MRCPsych CASC exam. The focus is on boosting confidence, improving interview technique and providing a framework to illustrate knowledge. Delegates will play many roles, including those of the examination candidate, simulated patient and examiner, in order to fully appreciate the examination from every perspective.
